Executive Pastry Chef
Hartford, Connecticut native Allison Brown joined Cru Catering in 2023 as Executive Pastry Chef. Allison’s culinary journey began at the Center for Culinary Arts in Cromwell, CT, where she graduated in 2007 with a Diploma in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management. Following graduation, Allison honed her skills working alongside Executive Pastry Chef John Hamstra at The Landings in Savannah, GA.
Allison has left her mark in various kitchens across the East Coast. She served as a Pastry Assistant to the Pastry Chef at On20 in Hartford, CT, held the position of Executive Pastry Chef at The Desoto Hotel, Southern Cross Hospitality, and LaScala in Savannah, GA, and was the Executive Pastry Chef of the Dormie Network in North Carolina, overseeing the pastry departments of all the resorts within the network. Her love for the culinary world eventually led her to Charleston, SC, where she assumed the role of Executive Pastry Chef at Stars Rooftop and Grill Room before eventually joining the team at Cru Catering.
Known for her ability to remain composed under pressure, Allison excels in crafting creative dessert menus and prides herself on her organizational skills. Her management style is defined by patience, approachability, and a commitment to setting her team members up for success. Beyond the world of baking, Allison spends her free time hiking and embarking on day trips with her loyal companion, Chase, an American Staffordshire Terrier.
