How to Honeymoon
April 28, 2014
When it comes to the honeymoon no two couples are alike. We have some couples who are more excited about their honeymoon than the actual wedding day. Then we have those who are too consumed, stressed and busy planning their wedding that they opt to push the honeymoon planning, or the whole thing altogether, to the side.
Whichever category you fall into we think these amazing honeymoon ideas will help you narrow down the choices and ease the ‘where do I start’ stress.
Do you like the best of both worlds? Want a little adventure mixed with your R&R? Resorts world-wide are finally understanding this need. Even if you are just jetting down to the Bahamas most resorts are now including excursion options (as a cruise does). Make sure to ask what your options are for booking specials and early registration deals.
Much like the fad of ‘staycations’ couples are exploring the idea of getting local for their honeymoon. Many Charleston couples are opting to explore more of the Carolinas for their honeymoon with choices like Asheville, Hilton Head, Kiawah Island, Myrtle Beach, Boone, Blowing Rock, Edisto Island, Bald Head Island and more who needs to leave?! Check out this great information on traveling in the South Eastern US. *This is also a great option for those who don’t have an extended period of time to travel, make your mini-moon just as special!
Similarly, a lot of our destination couples (who travel to Charleston to get married) continue their stay in the city with the family for their Honeymoon. There is no shame in sharing your vaction with the family. Couples who have been together a long time, previously lived together or are a little older in age love the option of having a week long celebration with their closest family (or friends). Just like your wedding day, your honeymoon is for you! Do what you love- for some that is being with the people they love the most!
There are also many new options for those who want the five-star celebrity treatment on their honeymoon. Known celebrity resorts are now giving deals for off-season rentals as well as particular honeymoon specials.
Enjoy the idea of a private villa on a secluded beach, but not so much the idea of organizing your own activities, cleaning and cooking? Private rentals are now joining the all-inclusive group offering you your own staff and planners.
