Featured Charleston Venue: Middleton Place
May 15, 2014
We always talk about our wonderful clients, brides and grooms and even the great event planners and photographers behind the scenes, however you don’t hear much about the venues themselves. With such beautiful places in Charleston it is easy to assume that pictures say it all. We decided we wanted to sing the praises of our Cru Catering preferred venues with a tribute to one special place a month…
This month’s Featured Venue: Middleton Place
Middleton Place is widely known for its beautiful gardens that bloom year-round. Dubbed the ‘home to America’s Oldest Landscaped Gardens’ it is easy to see why so many brides and grooms choose Middleton for their big day. The property also includes a house museum, stable yards with horses and an on-site inn and restaurant. Established and expanded since 1705, Middleton, is truly a historic beauty nestled off the Ashley River in Charleston.
Brides and grooms can choose from multiple property locations including the 900 year old Middleton Oak alongside the water or a more intimate setting in the secret garden for their events. With many extras, such as a handcrafted plantation carriage to whisk you away, it is no surprise Middleton was named one of the Top 50 Romantic Wedding Venues in the U.S. in 2013 by Brides.com.
Whether a day trip to the property, a wedding day or a weekend affair, Middleton is a Cru Catering favorite!
A Night at Middleton, a recent invite only event (extended to preferred vendors), was created to show-case the tent capabilities of the property, one of the many options you have when planning an event at Middleton. The Cru Crew had a great evening listening to music by Blue Stone Ramblers and mingling with the great event talents of Charleston including Middleton Catering, Duval Catering, Ice Box Events, Event Drs, Speary Tents, Ooh! Events and Southern Protocol (who designed the Cru Catering tent).
