Cru’s Coordinator of the Month: Melissa Barton

September 23, 2014

For the Fall Cru is going to give a Shout Out each month to one of our wonderful wedding coordinators. Without these folks we could never be your #1 Caterer in Charleston. These are the people who truly make each of our events SPECTACULAR

September’s Featured Coordinator of the Month: Melissa Barton, with A Charleston Bride

Melissa Barton is the founder of ‘A Charleston Bride’ and has been a joy to work with throughout the years on many Charleston events. A true Charlestonian, Melissa, was born and raised in the Holy City, graduated from College of Charleston and has lent her event expertise to the ever growing Charleston Wedding Industry since 2001.

While her weddings are incredible, our shout out goes to her for her most recent success with her “Showdown with Cancer” event benefiting the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Melissa, a breast cancer survivor and “founding fairy” of the “Shotgun Fairies” fundraising team, cut no corners with this fantastic philanthropic event.

The ‘Saddle Up’ party was held the end of August at The Ruins at Beresford Hall on Daniel Island. We were blown away by everything from the casual ‘boots and jeans’ theme down to the last pink detail. Melissa and her supporting Fairies have raised over $20,000 and are still at it. Visit the “Shotgun Fairies” online for event information and ways you can help.

Cru was honored to be a part of this great community event, and looks forward to working with Melissa in the future, on her relentless race for a cure and beautiful Charleston Weddings. View some of our Cru Catered/Melissa Barton weddings here:
