Chef Steve Boyer
Steve Boyer brings a lifetime of culinary experience and passion to his role as executive chef at Cru Catering, which has been voted Charleston’s best catering company for nearing two decades. Boyer contends that growing up in the industry gave him the necessary backbone required to handle Cru Catering’s impressive volume.
A native of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Boyer was immersed in all aspects of his family’s restaurant throughout his childhood. Despite exploring other careers, Boyer always found himself happiest in the kitchen, leading him to enroll in Johnson & Wales University in Charleston.
Upon graduating Magna Cum Laude with an Associates Degree in Applied Science in the Culinary Arts in 2005, Boyer remained in the Holy City following graduation, working as sous chef for Spirit Line Cruises. He joined the Cru team in May 2007 and has been an integral part of the company’s incredible growth, helping to execute a range of unforgettable events. In 2013, Boyer was promoted to executive chef of Cru Catering.
